Bad
This game is bad because the graphics are simple, it is 3D but you move along a 2D axis (why not enjoy the third axis?), the gameplay is vague and the sounds are bad. A game which you usually get for free with a box of CD’s

A waste of $ and time
A simple methodical 3D vertical scrolling shooter, simple graphics, simple gameplay, and simple audios.
This game is VERY repetitive, every levels are the same, and there are only 4 or 5 types of enemies and there are no strategies, only move and fire. There are no ranks, no kill count so you can just fly through the level without taking one shot. There is no story plot, no upgrades, and so no replay value.
I strongly recommend people NOT to buy this game. It is, like one of the reviews, should be a gift when you buy something. (It is a poor gift as well)

Wow, this is one of your good games. I tried it at my friend’s and went home to download it! And it’s very cool. I think you should make River Rider III. That would be much cooler!

I grew up playing River Raid
a.game { color: #000000; line-height: 1.4em; } Yet, I noticed that the game’s name changed a little. I thought: “Wow! The sequel of that masterpiece is finally here!” – That is in as little as… well, 10+ years. However, this version of the game did not get better than that one, which I still love so much.
In my “good times”, when I was playing this game, a big part of fun was destroying the enemy bridges, especially when there isa tank on the bridge. Well, hey, tank, where are you? There is no tank in this version, and, hey, there are no bridges either. Well, the most important fact about bridges is that the bridges were the checkpoints. And now they are gone. How’s that? Now, whenever you get killed, you start the level from the beginning… And the fuel, even that part has changed. I no longer can slow down to refuel. I can’t shoot it either. And, of course, if I shot it, I could get extra points, which sometimes are important for you to get another life and another try. Well, after you pass a level, you get a whole bunch of lives.
That just makes this game too easy and booooring. And this 3d view… I am not trying to copy other people, but I do not like this view either. It only looks like 3d, but it is not possible to experience the 3d environment fully. The third axis in this game is just imaginary and cannot be used.
It is possible to switch to the good old 2d view, but it does not make the gameplay any better. If I were to buy a 3d game, I would buy WW2 Pacific Heroes instead of this one. It is way better and it is the actual 3d game. You know what I mean by “actual”, don’t you?
As soon as I saw this game on reflexive, I wanted to write a good review, but, no. Sorry, but it is not better than the previous version.
